Acupuncturist Roxana Pardis is joining Care Point Coquitlam Centre beginning the week of February 16th, 2009.
Roxana Pardis is a graduate in Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) and a registered acupuncturist in British Columbia, Canada. She obtained her BSc degree in computer engineering from Shiraz Azad University in Iran (her country of origin). Even during her undergraduate years and later when she worked as a software engineer, she had always been fascinated with the magic of human body and ways to achieve a balanced healthy life. She was exposed to homeopathy for the first time via an interesting lecture by one of the experts of the field, which immediately made her interested in alternative medicine.
After immigration to Canada she became interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), especially the way it is based upon the energy mechanics of the body and mind, and how health is maintained through the unity and constant transformation of the two opposite life forces, yin and yang. She completed a five year program in TCM and received her DTCM diploma from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver (ICTCMV).
Her training in TCM included acupuncture, herbal medicine, Chinese food cure, TuiNa (Chinese massage), Qi Gong and Tai Ji (Chinese martial arts), as well as other advanced courses in TCM (e.g., TCM psychology and TCM gerontology). In addition to her formal program in ICTCMV, she has also completed other short programs which include Acupuncture Detoxification, under the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA), Infertility, and Cosmetic Acupuncture. The latter was provided by Marry Elizabeth Wakefield, one of the leading proponents of facial renewal techniques in the world today.
Roxana is currently a registered acupuncturist practicing in Downtown Vancouver. She has been a member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturists (CTCMA) since 2006. She is also a member of Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of British Columbia (TCMAB) and National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA).
